Hi there,
I’m Alison. I’m an educator and a counsellor. For the past decade I have taught psychology to undergraduate students in Hong Kong. As an academic, I managed school programs, conducted public talks, and researched on mental health and wellness. Clinically, I have served in children’s homes, hospitals, and mental health community centres for several years.
Over the years, I have enjoyed working with students, teachers, youths, parents, and older adults from all walks of lives. I have walked together with people facing terminal illnesses, trauma, crisis, life transitions, relationship losses, and mental health issues, and I have had the privilege to witness our growth, together.
I work from an eclectic approach integrating humanistic, psychodynamic, and cognitive behavioural perspectives. As a Christian, I also see life as a pilgrimage with daily challenges. I view my counselling service as part of my commitment and contribution to the community.
Before returning to my hometown Hong Kong in 2008, I had lived in New York City and New Zealand for ten years. I love the diversity of human nature. To make an appointment for online counselling, please click here.
