Hi Everyone,

I am Dr Bernadette Wong, and you can call me Bernadette, or Dic Dic. I am a Chinese Canadian who lived in Canada for almost 10 years and worked in management for over a decade. I have worked in the field of psychology in several non-profit organizations and community health centre’s, and in a residential home for children. I have provided therapy to children, teenagers, adults, couples, and families. I have also conducted group therapy sessions, workshops. and psycho-educational seminars.

I am a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner and am skilled in complex trauma and complicated grief and bereavement issues. Depending on the needs of my clients, I also utilize eclectic approaches such as Psychodynamic therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, the Satir Model, Hypnotherapy, Structural Family therapy, Humanistic therapy, and Emotionally focused therapy.

I believe in empowering individuals to develop new coping strategies to improve and enhance their lives. My practice interests include mood and attachment issues, anxiety and depression disorder, personality, adjustment and stress management, grief and loss, LGBTQIA-related issues, and trauma. I work with kids, adolescents, adults, couples, and families.

During my free time I love baking and enjoy spending time with friends, family and my lovely chihuahua.

If you would like to meet with me to talk about the possibility of counselling, please click here. I can offer a 30-minute free chemistry meeting via video chat, phone, or face to face meeting. This chemistry meeting is not a counselling meeting; it is to help you decide if we can work together.
