What a pleasure to be back at work. Recently, I held a talk on “Gratefulness” at the Dutch Reformed Church Valhalla in South Africa.
During the talk, it became clear that we cannot talk about gratefulness and thankfulness as individual feelings or thoughts. Trials and misfortunes lead to deep gratefulness moments.
We may have laughter between our tears, and although there might be unfathomable pain, a moment of kindness received can change our outlook in an instant.
The practice to journal a few grateful moments at the end of the day or to start your day with sending a reason to be grateful to an accountability buddy is helpful for personal peace.
In this Holiday season, let us remember to be grateful and let us reach out with kindness to reach someone else and be on their gratefulness list.be
